evalution

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My magazine design is a convention of a real media product based on the rock band theme. Which I made my own design using relatable font, having my own photographed image which is medium close-up posed of course, fake stories about fake/made up celebrities. The colour scheme black and yellow as this is because I based my magazine on the Kerrang magazine. It’s used throughout the my magazine as I feel it helps to give it ownership and helps the reader link the pages together with a flow.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My magazine fits into the social and media grouped theory’s of Graeame Burton so it has to be related to these groups. My magazine should fit the criteria by informing my audience and getting them news of new hypes to excite people as they are find something new and it’s also for entertaining them want to buy the product again.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Media institutions such as Conde Nast or Hearst might distribute in my media product as it is a pop magazine, Conde Nast and Hearst are owners of some of the biggest pop magazines out.

Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my media product would be teenagers/young adults as it’s because of the live style they have which appeals to the young.

How did you attract/address your audience?
I looked at an already printed magazine in the form of Kerrang already mentioned which gave me much to see about the layout, font, and colour scheme. This gave how they and I want to attract the audience into looking at my magazine. I then took the ideas from that magazine and added into my magazine my own ideas.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I have learnt how to use Photoshop, Picasa 3 and Gimp 2 which are the same software. How to edit each of my images to how I would present that picture on my magazine. The editing skills includes the basics of sharpen, add decrease contrast, add exposure, cropping and some more editing processes to change the appearance altogether adding textures, background designs and overlapping another image onto one another.
